Recurring Ear InfectionsIt is common to hear of young children who have had multiple ear infections and been through multiple rounds of antibiotics, with seemingly no improvement. Why do some children suffer so frequently, while others go through life without a single ear infection? Even in the same family, one child may suffer while the other does not. They eat the same food, drink the same water and are genetically similar—so what’s the difference? Health is defined as optimal physical, mental and social wellbeing, not merely the absence of disease or infirmity. More simply—health is 100% function. When things don’t function right, you are not healthy. If you have been to my health care class, you may have heard
my analogy that explains these chronic, recurrent problems. I
liken them to rats in a dump. If you have a dump, there are
likely rats in the dump. If you poison all the rats, but leave
the dump, the rats will come back. The only way to truly get
rid of the rat problem is to clean up the dump—improve function.
If you know of a child who is suffering from ear infections, please encourage the parents to look into chiropractic care. It can make a world of difference in that child’s life. |
